The purposes of this study were to investigate the attitude of high school students toword their hearing-impaired peers. Comparison between genders, grades, and private or public schoolers were made Eight hundred and twenty-three subjects from twelve schools filled out the questionnaires to show their attitude toward hearing-impaired peers.The results indicated as follows,(1) About eighty percent of the subjects are favorable in attitude to their hearing-impaired peers. However, comcerning to act as a tutor of hearing-impaired peers, only fifty-four percent pf the subjects showed positive attitude.(2) Except the item of acting as a tutor of hearing-impaired peers, there were significant differences among all the items of attitade between the public schoolers and private schoolers.(3) There were significant differences among three grades. The third grade students possessed more positive attitude than those of the first grade and the second grade.(4) Girls tended to demostrat more positive attitude in all the items thar boys. Some suggestions about this study were proposed. |
