The development of information technology promotes e-learning internationally. Teachers not only can use all kinds of information technology to plan, design, and implement instructional activities, but also can create diverse instructional environments and communication channels through the network. A variety of teaching pedagogies with instructional technology thus were developed accordingly and applied in higher education. However, under this trend, problems with adopting instructional technology and possible burdens came along that teachers would face emerged. In view of this, the present study used qualitative research and case study method and conduct in-depth interview with each of the six professors with purposeful sampling. The purpose of this study was set to understand how the university professors integrated information technology into their teaching, and further investigate the difficulties faced, the support and resource needed, as well as how they solve technology adoption related problems. Results of this study provided suggestions to future researches of faculty professional development, and to higher education institutions and teachers who plan to implement quality instructional strategies with information technology integration in teaching. |
