Under university USR initiatives, language education is expected to foster practical competence for addressing local issues. The author implemented a CLIL×PjBL course in新埔, redesigning it through four stages—acquisition, inquiry, presentation, and deepening—with semi-structured projects and mini-tasks. Using mixed methods, the study examined students’local problem-solving ability and place attachment through pre/post self-assessments, third-party evaluations, and thematic analysis. Results showed improvement in both dimensions and fewer project difficulties. Future work should strengthen intercultural exchange through staged progression toward more authentic interaction and incorporate place commitment into place-attachment assessment through longitudinal analysis of behavioral engagement. |
