The purpose of this research is to make a comprehensive analysis of the current status of the internationalization of higher education in Taiwan, 20 years after its development. Through the mixed research method, quantitative research is used first, and followed by qualitative research to understand the current status and progress of the internationalization of higher education in Taiwan, international officers' understanding and needs, and the impact of the Covid-19 on internationalization and responsive measures. The research results show that: first, the international development of colleges and universities has gradually accumulated achievements, which are closely related to leaders' international cognition and international development ability; second, the school type has an obvious correlation in the international development of the school; third, the environment for international affairs organizations needs to be improved; fourth, the Covid-19 has affected funding and enrollment capacity, but it has also spawned innovation. This research proposes that a support system should be established for the international development of private technical vocational schools; colleges and universities should prepare in advance for the form of hybrid exchange; deepen the connotation of internationalization through “internationalization at home” and “curriculum internationalization”; it is necessary to establish a talent training mechanism for international affairs personnel. |
