The study investigated the weaknesses in the concepts of Social studies concepts and cognitive ability of the students in Hsinchu County and then proposed teaching suggestions. The main research purposes were as the following: 1.To compare of Social studies learning achievements of the grade 9th students in the Basic Mocks among Hsinchu county and other local areas. 2.To analysis the distribution of Hsinchu County's grade 9th students in cognitive taxonomy of Social Studies learning. 3.To analysis learning between high and low performances of Hsinchu County's grade 9th students in the concepts of the Social studies learning. 4.To explore the weaknesses in the concepts of Social studies learning and direction of teaching counseling. This study pointed out the key to study social studies involving the understanding of abstract and special conceptions and the studying of application and high level thinking, particularly the integration of 2 main themes: Person and Space, Person and Time, as well as the connection of national economy, social issues and living experiences. |
