Professor Wu-Tien Wu is an exceptional scholar who has led the advancement of theories and practices in special education and educational counseling. He prominently contributed to the promotion and innovation of special education, particularly in the areas of educational policy formulation, international influence, cross-strait cooperation, and counseling and guidance. Not only was he devoted to the revision of the 9-Year Curriculum Guidelines, but Professor Wu also led the development of the Curriculum Guidelines for 12-Year Basic Education for Special Education in Taiwan. He has established a comprehensive teacher preparation system, led the revisions of the Special Education Act, and ensured that students with special needs receive appropriate educational resources and support. Internationally, he has served as the Chair of the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children (WCGTC) and has been instrumental in enhancing special education through cross-strait cooperation. In the field of counseling and guidance, Professor Wu is a pioneer of group counseling in Taiwan and has driven the development of counseling practices. He has developed and revised over 60 psychological and educational assessment tools. Professor Wu has published over 200 academic journal articles, authored more than 60 books, contributed over 80 book chapters, and presented over 140 conference papers in both Chinese and English. His deep gratitude towards his mentors, strong emotional connections with his students, and profound sense of social responsibility demonstrate his passion and commitment to education.
