Professor Yang Kuo-Tzu is an honorary professor in the Department of Social Education at National Taiwan Normal University, an honorary chair professor in the Department of Counseling Psychology and Human Resource Development at the College of Education, National Chi Nan University, and an honored Professor at Asia University. Professor Yang has served as Professor and Director of the Department of Social Education at National Taiwan Normal University, Director of Social Education at the Ministry of Education, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Education, and President of National Chiayi University. Professor Yang is also dedicated to service in the academic community. He has served as a leader of many academic groups, such as the Chinese Education Society, the Comparative Education Society of the Republic of China, the Technical and Vocational Education Society of the Republic of China, the Adult and Lifelong Education Society of the Republic of China, and the Taiwan Higher Education Society. Professor Yang's research fields mainly include social education, adult and lifelong education, comparative education, philosophy of education, senior education, higher education, etc. He has published over 200 articles in Chinese and English journals, more than 10 books, and more than 50 book and conference papers. His contribution to the field of education is comprehensive. In particular, he adopted the pragmatist philosophy of education as the basic theory for exploring academic education research. Therefore, his influence to Taiwan's educational and social development has ideal and practical contributions. |
