The study aims at exploring the effectiveness of bibliotherapy toward young children's aggression behavior. There are some merits of this study: a. It emphasizes the importance of primary prevention, especially for such young children. b. The intervention form of the bibliotherapy helps to attract young children's attention, develop their empathic skill as well as role-taking ability, thus to expend their own selfawareness. c. The literature review was quite concise and comprehensive, not only include the physical, psychological and social aspects of children's aggression drive, the study also highlighted how the group format could help young children to aware and face their positive or negative emotions. Via the story telling process, it helps children to aware and handle their own emotions better. Moreover, the therapeutic factors of the group format also help those young children to manage their aggressive behaviors and learn more social skills. It would be more rigorous if this study could be arranged in pair-study and randomly assigned to either experimental or control group, and had follow-up design. The implication of this study is that this kind of small sample design can be helpful if carefully designed and conducted. Children are all eager to read stories, if teachers or parents can carefully choose appropriate stories, along with all the media that attract to young children, it will be very beneficial for children to learn appropriate behaviors. |
