The purpose of this study was to examine the current situation of Montessori preschool teachers' development appropriate practices and factors of personal background influencing their beliefs and practices. It was conducted by means of a quantitative questionnaires survey, with 212Montessori teachers participating in the study, including preschools in Taipei, New Taipei, Hsinchu, Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Yilan, and Hualien. The results showed that Montessori preschool teacher is consistent with the beliefs and practices of developmentally appropriate practices; teacher's major was found to be related to Taiwanese Montessori teachers' beliefs and years of experience was found to be related to their practices. Other personal background factors were not significantly different. |
