Social networking services have become part ofour quotidian existence nowadays. To render the Internetmore entertaining and enjoyable, an increasing number ofInternet artists have created many humorous illustrationsin recent years. These illustrations not only convey theircreators’ sense of humor in an intelligible fashion, butalso gradually replace complicated and lengthy texts.Applying the evaluation grid method (EGM) fromthe Miryoku engineering, this study seeks to investigatethe attractiveness factors behind humorous illustrations.According to the evaluation grid produced via in-depthinterviews, this study identified that these attractivenessfactors include content, style, text, and color, which mayserve as a practical reference for the creation of onlinegraphic texts. |
