"When the Chinese education is becoming globalized, the pandemic has swept the world. The characteristics of remote-teaching have been explored in the past as an important way to solve the teaching-source problems, and now it has received an unprecedented attention. The internship is a graduation requirement of the Department of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, so training students to develop appropriate online teaching skills has become a top priority for the department.Taking one of the core courses of the department as an experiment, the researcher conducted an internship modular-training by cooperating with three language-learning companies. Before midterm, the researcher helped the students to build up the theoretical base. After the mid-term, the researcher and the trainers from the three companies conducted a 5-week micro-teaching training. The students reviewed their learning with reflective journal-writing every week.Sixteen students participated the course 'Second Language Acquisition', and they were also served as the research sample. The periodic and summative reflective journal-writings indicated that students are satisfied with the course content, and the result also showed that students' internship skills and information literacy have improved. This pilot research provides an example of teacher-education modular-training during the pandemic prevention period." |
