"The purpose of the study is to explore the research approach on Nel Noddings’ ethics of care in the related educational theses and dissertations in Taiwan during the Nine-year Curriculum Guideline Period 2000-2019. This article shows some critical phenomenon of spreading educational thoughts from foreign culture into higher education in Taiwan by analyzing educational theses and dissertations. There were 188 papers analyzed. Their research methods were multiple and it showed that the ethics of care were highlighted in educational theses and dissertations in Taiwan. The research methodology implemented rankings are: action research, literature review, case study, survey method, quasi-experiment, content/discourse/text analysis, narrative inquiry, and the indicator/scale construction with multiple methods. One third of the papers were used with action research and in which the ethic of care were interpreted into four dimensions including: care as the core-value, care as the instructive methods, care as the unit-theme, and care as the re-concept idea. In the article, the educational issues of the theses and dissertations with eight research methodology were analyzed and the suggestions for the future were given." |
