The aim of this study attempts to make a comparison betweenJapanese and Chinese languages, concerning the derivational suffix~Ka(“become / make X”)from the viewpoint of morphology, semanticsand syntax. The main discussion includes:1) The morphological structure and the special meaning of such category2) The intransitive and transitive uses about “~Ka”3) The correspondence on “~Ka” between Japanese and ChineseI firmly believe the conclusions resulting from this study will beable to make some contributions to theory/application in contrastiveanalysis between Japanese and Chinese, and even to the strategies ofsecond language teaching. |
