The purpose of this study is to investigate the vocational interest of 312 students with mild retardation in senior high schools. The results indicate that there are gender differences in term of vocational types. The grade is also an important factor in some vocational types. The first two vocational types that these students have interest are business and personal service. 'Delivering posters' and 'serving at a food counter' are the favorite jobs that the male and female students have interested to do, respectively. The results also show that no more than fifty percents of students have vocational interest in consistence with what they have studied in the vocational schools. |
