The purpose of this study was to explore the differences of the eductional attitudes between the teachers and parents of intellectually gifted students. At the same time, the relationships between the teachers' educational attitudes and their professional training and sex, as well as the relationships b tween the parents' educational attitudes and their educational backgrounds were determined in this study. The self-designed 'Attitude Scale for Giftrd Education' was administered to 660 teachers and 426 parents of elemetary and junior high intellectually gifted students. The data were analyzed by frequency distribution, t test, analysis of variance, the Pearson correalation and factor analysis. The results of this study are as follows: 1. There were significant differences in educational attitudes between the teachers and parents of intellectually gifted students. And the parents of intellectually gifted students tended to have more positive attitudes than the teachers of intellectually gifted students. 2. There was significant sex difference in educational attitudes among the teacher.3. There were significant differences in educational attitudes between the teachers with professional education and the teachers without professional training. 4. No significant relationship was found between the educational levels of fathers of intellectually gifted students and their educational attitudes; the educational levels were significantly related to their educational attitudes, but this relationship seems to be week. |
