This article explores how the case principal creates an environ¬ment conducive to the practice of facilitative leadership. Taking Banana Elementary School (pseudonym) as the research site, this paper collects empirical data through participant observation and interviews. The re¬sults of the study show that the case principal’s actions in establishing an environment conducive to the practice of facilitative leadership include: the principal’s insight into affairs, establishing a trustful relationship between himself and his colleagues, establishing a friendly relationship between himself and his colleagues, and creating good organizational in¬teractions. Such an environment helps the principal to share power with faculty and staff and assists members in growing, improving their capa¬bilities, and pursuing mutually agreed upon common goals. |
