This study to investigate factors that influenced the intention of further studies for Taiwanese students studying early childhood care. Literature review was firstly conducted to understand the overall influencing factors. Subsequently, 10 students in the department of early childhood care in a vocational high school in central Taiwan were interviewed. The result of literature review showed that 60% of home economics students in Taiwan chose to continue their studies further. In addition, factors that influenced Taiwanese early childhood care students to conduct further studies involved personal interest, experience or competence, expectation from others, and family income. The interview result revealed that 90% of the early childhood care students decided to continue their studies, and personal interest was the major factor influencing their decision.
