Guided by the human-centered philosophy of being “for the people, by the people, and with the people,” Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (CGMH) is committed to transforming advanced information technologies into practical solutions that enhance healthcare quality and patient safety. Since becoming the frst hospital in Taiwan to receive smart hospital certifcation in 2014, CGMH has continually advanced its digital transformation initiatives. In 2025, the hospital renewed its enterprise- wide smart hospital certifcation and became the frst hospital in Taiwan to simultaneously achieve Stage 7 validation in four HIMSS maturity models: the Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM), Infrastructure Adoption Model (INFRAM), Digital Imaging Adoption Model (DIAM), and Adoption Model for Analytics Maturity (AMAM). CGMH adopts a dual-track smart hospital strategy integrating clinical and administrative operations. Through an AI-driven platform, more than 40 artifcial intelligence models have been implemented in clinical practice. In addition, the establishment of closed-loop medication and specimen management systems has improved the efficiency of emergency medication administration by 85.6%. Concurrently, the integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) and intelligent centralized monitoring has enabled more efcient and sustainable energy management. Looking ahead, CGMH plans to further adopt generative AI and the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standard to advance the development of a patient-centered smart medical center and promote the adoption of international interoperability standards across Taiwan’s healthcare system.
