Evidence-based medicine (EBM) is a core competency for healthcare quality improvement; however, translating it from an individual skill into hospital-wide practice remains challenging. This study aimed to report the strategies and outcomes of a hospital-wide EBM capacity-building program at National Cheng Kung University Hospital. Since 2021, the hospital has implemented an institution-wide training program for multidisciplinary staff, featuring tiered learning pathways, mentorship from an interdisciplinary coaching team, and diversified learning formats such as online courses, workshops, lunch-and-learn sessions, and outreach lectures. Competition-based incentives were also incorporated to facilitate knowledge translation. From 2021 to 2025, approximately 710 attendances were recorded. The hospital participated in EBM competitions hosted by the Joint Commission of Taiwan and received a total of 23 awards, including 4 gold awards, with outcomes showing a steady annual growth trend. Concurrently, annual EBM-related publications increased from an average of 3.8 to 29. Through structured training and interdisciplinary collaboration, EBM competencies were expanded from individual skills to an organizational culture, further translating into educational achievements and academic productivity. This replicable model may serve as a reference for other healthcare institutions promoting EBM education.
