Taipei Veterans General Hospital adopts “the parallel advancement of education and clinical practice”as its core governance philosophy. Through its Department of Medical Education, the hospital has established a stable and structured medical education system, positioning talent development as a fundamental pillar for sustainable institutional growth. In the field of evidence-based medicine, the hospital has established an EBM Center to systematically promote tiered training programs, research support, and clinical consultation services. It also strengthens knowledge translation by integrating research evidence into clinical decision-making, including shared decision-making between clinicians and patients, as well as the revision of clinical protocols, thereby enhancing healthcare quality. In simulation-based education, the hospital has developed a collaborative model in which clinical units propose scenarios, and the Department of Medical Education supports their transformation and implementation. This model incorporates team resource management to strengthen interprofessional communication and clinical response capabilities, addressing the limitations of traditional training approaches. Through the integration of EBM and simulation-based education, educational activities are efectively linked to clinical practice, gradually shaping a sustainable hospital model in which education drives improvements in healthcare quality and patient safety.
