The Joint Commission of Taiwan (JCT) has long promoted the institutionalization of healthcare quality through accreditation, certification, and structured evaluation and recognition mechanisms, thereby establishing a national platform for continuous quality improvement. In response to the evolving healthcare environment, starting in 2025, JCT has further strengthened the strategic role of clinical medical education within the healthcare system by positioning the “National Clinical Medical Education Award” as a core brand, with the aim of promoting the integrated development of teaching quality, training effectiveness, and clinical competency. The award framework encompasses key domains including evidence-based medicine, simulation-based education, and innovative teaching. Evidence-based medicine is applied to enhance evidence-informed decision-making and to reduce the gap between research evidence and clinical practice. Simulation-based education is utilized to improve clinical skills, teamwork, and patient safety awareness. Innovative teaching integrates educational theories with digital technologies to promote interdisciplinary integration and outcome-oriented learning. Through standardized evaluation mechanisms and systematic implementation, this initiative drives continuous improvement among healthcare institutions, strengthens the linkage between clinical education and quality management, and ultimately enhances both the quality of healthcare services and the resilience of the healthcare system.
