Since 1998, Cheng Ching Hospital has upheld the core philosophy of “patient-centeredness and full staff participation,” systematically introducing systematically implementing Total Quality Management (TQM) to foster cross-departmental collaboration and process improvement. Through these efforts, the hospital has progressively established a robust quality system and training framework, thereby shaping an institutionalized and internalized culture of quality management. In 2024, the hospital was honored with the 25-Year Continual Quality Improvement Award from the Joint Commission of Taiwan, recognizing its persistent implementation of the Quality Control Circle (QCC) system, continual promotion of healthcare quality improvement, and integration of education and training, progress monitoring, and incentive mechanisms. Together, these initiatives have realized a quality management blueprint centered on patient care and sustainable advancement. The steady advancement of healthcare quality in the hospital has been grounded in standardized, systematic, and continual operations, guided by the dual principles of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and TQM. By applying mechanisms such as three-tier auditing of standard operating procedures, deviation monitoring, and indicator management, the hospital has cultivated a deeply rooted quality culture and enhanced service quality. Over the past 28 years, the hospital has completed 886 improvement projects and received 177 awards, with more than 80% of its employees directly involved. These achievements demonstrate that a quality-oriented culture has become deeply embedded in the medical teams and organizational core of the hospital, reflecting both resilience and innovation in the quality of healthcare services.
