Among all categories of healthcare professionals, physicians exhibit the most pronounced gender imbalance. In the clinical workplace, physicians may encounter gender-based adversity in various aspects, including gender stereotypes, gendered traits, physician-patient relationships, peer interactions, hierarchical structures, reproductive considerations, and caregiving responsibilities. Fostering a gender-friendly work environment for physicians may begin with the identifying care indicators that reflect the challenges related to career decisions, gendered workplace dynamics (including physician-patient and peer relationships), familial responsibilities, and gender awareness education. Systematic collection and analysis of these indicators may inform the development of more inclusive and responsive strategies, thereby promoting a gender-friendly work environment for physicians.
