Medical quality and patient safety are the core objectives of hospital management. The governance and chief executive teams of Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital have integrated a culture of patient safety into the hospital’s mission, vision, and goals and ensured alignment with national health policies when developing strategies to improve medical quality and patient safety. To improve the management of medical quality and patient safety in accordance with institution-wide strategic development, the hospital has implemented innovative strategies across five key domains: organizational structure and governance, work environment optimization and lean management, education and training, digital transformation, and social responsibility. These efforts have strengthened the hospital’s commitment to and continuous improvement of medical quality and patient safety while increasing operational efficiency.
