Our hospital successfully improved health-care quality and patient safety through systematic management and innovation. The hospital-wide 14-day unplanned readmission rate dropped from 1.76% to 1.09%, demonstrating the effectiveness of interdisciplinary meetings, predischarge assessments, and indicator feedback.
We implemented 45 shared decision making topics and developed patient decision aids to support high-risk surgical and major treatment decisions. From 2020 to 2023, we received one Excellence in Practice Award, twenty-two Outstanding Team Awards, three Innovation Awards, and four Human Factors Special Awards in National Healthcare Quality Award competitions.
Our intelligent assessment system reduced postoperative ischemic stroke and myocardial infarction to zero, and a cross-department screening system cut patient wait times from between 3 and 26 days to between 4 hours and 7 days, improving diagnostic efficiency. We will continue optimizing our management strategies, integrating new technologies, and ensuring alignment with international standards to advance health-care quality and patient safety.
