The main purpose of this study was to understand the current state of online learning readiness of the full-time employees working in high-tech companies in Northern Taiwan, and to explore whether employees’ personal background would have an effect on their online learning readiness. By means of the participants’ responses on a self-developed questionnaire, the results indicated that participants’ overall readiness for online learning was high. Among all factors, the positive learning attitude was rated the highest. Moreover, it was found that the group of participants over the age of 50 were better ready than the 23-to-29-year-old group in the factors of positive learning attitude and self directed learning. In addition, there were significant differences in the factor of positive learning attitude among the participants with different levels of education. Participants with either a Ph.D., master’s, bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma had better readiness in positive learning attitude than those with a junior college degree. |
