The theory of situational language teaching which promotes students to transform abstract perceptions into tangible thoughts is the key to stimulate the learners´ internal and external learning motives. Moreover, the combination of technological environments and good guidance and reading instructions enhance the linguistic capabilities and enhance reading comprehension of students. Therefore, this paper constructs a ubiquitous English-reading learning system that combines RFID location-aware technologies and a guidance mechanism. The guidance mechanism utilizes the data of a learning portfolio to evaluate guidance parameters, and simultaneously considers information regarding the degree of relational reading and reading difficulty, which can be entered into a genetic algorithm to construct a near optimal reading sequence during learning activities. Based on the experimental results, this reading learning system results in an efficient and effective learning performance to promote learning motivation through appropriate learning paths. |
