It is getting clear that the biggest drive to change the future education is digital technology. For students, it changes the way to learn; for teachers, it changes the way to teach. If why to educate, what to educate, and how to educate are three education fundamentals, then digital technology changes one of these fundamentals: how to educate. The change is slow but accelerating, continuing yet accumulating, moving forward and never reversing. This short article introduces the concept of and some of our works on one-to-one technology enhanced learning, an emerging research endeavor that intends to change formal education in the future decade or even longer. |
