This study explored the influence of filial play therapy on children’s resilience and analyzed parents’experiences of participating in filial play therapy groups. A qualitative research method was adopted, with data collected through semistructured interviews with six parents who completed a filial play therapy group program. The results revealed that filial play therapy helped improve the children’s resilience, and this was manifested in six dimensions: the development of self-esteem and confidence, emotional regulation and expression, problem-solving and coping skills, interpersonal relationships and social adaptation, autonomy and responsibility, and a positive mindset and adaptability. The parents’experiences led to self-awareness and personal growth, adjustments in parenting attitudes, improvements in parenting skills, enhanced parent–child relationships, and other influences related to the group program. In addition, this study discovered that resilience in children is dynamic and interactive, with several interrelated but different dimensions; growth in one aspect of resilience may simultaneously promote the development of other abilities. On the basis of these findings, this study provides recommendations for future research and practice. |
