Started in the Song and Yuan dynasties, the Chinese intellectual groups, based on teacher-studentbonds and/or friendship bonds, continued to be formingabundantly, and exerted more and more importantinfluences in the political, ideological, and culturallives. The intellectuals living in such environmentswere predestined to be accustomed to it, with more andmore obvious influences from their teachers, friends, and the groups themselves, which is what we should payspecial attention to when study the intellectuals inthe period of time. Focusing on the idea, the present article gives athorough survey on the relationships of Fang Hsio-ju to the Wu Zhou intellectual group, the development andscholarship of the group, and the role of the group inearly Ming politics, therefore furnishes a newunderstanding of the massacre of Fang's ten relatedclans by Ming Cheng-zu. |
