The purpose of this paper is to review the empirical studies which related to group work (both counseling & psychotherapy) in Taiwan during the past 15 years. Based on 11 indexes (purpose of study, type of group, duration of group, members, leaders experimental design. Independent Variables, depdndent variables, measurement statistical method, methodology and research outcome). A critical review of these studies is presented, and the future direction for group research is suggested. Before reviewing the group papers of past 15 years the goal of conducting group researeh is discussed first, and a multi-dimensional framework for group research is presented, too. 7-dimensions is included in this multidimension frame work, they are: pre-group dimension, members dimension, leaders dimensios, group treatment dimension, group process dimension, group development dimension, and and group outcome dimension. Then these 7-dimension model is utilized to review? the empirical studies which conducted both in the United States and Taiwan. |
