Student participation plays an important role in the construction of the European Higher Education Area(EHEA). However, due to the political and social differences among members, the degree of student participation also varies. Thus, how to deepen student participation at the European, national and institutional levels has become one of the key issues for the EHEA. This paper aims to understand the development and current state of student participation in the EHEA. The first part will define student participation, explore its importance within the EHEA, and introduce the European Students’Union(ESU). Secondly, using Student Partnerships in Quality Scotland(Sparqs)as a case study to examine the strategies for implementing student partnerships in Scotland’s quality assurance system. Finally, the challenges will be discussed, and conclusions will be provided. |
