This study aimed to examine the impact of environmental protection spending and recycling practices on waste emissions in six major Taiwanese cities. The empirical results found that, in the long run, recycling practices and population did not significantly affect waste emissions. However, both business sales and environmental protection spending were significant. Furthermore, a 1% increase in business sales was associated with a 0.84% increase in waste emissions, while a 1% increase in environmental protection spending was associated with a 0.66% decrease in waste emissions. |
