From a comprehensive review and analysis, this paper explores the role and agency of Myanmar’s younger generation in the resistance movement in the wake of the February 2021 coup by the military, namely Tatmadaw. The youths of Myanmar from all walks and ethnic communities arising and further engaging on a wider range of fighting activities, from non-violent demonstration to military mobilization, have proven a vital force to fuel the opposition against the military’s ruling. The youth’s participation into the post-coup resistance has been elevated from a supportive role up to a leading and significant actor with their democracy-cultivated value and technology-savvy social mobilization, leading a structural change on the political landscape in the post-coup era, ahead toward state-rebuilding process. |
