Hegemonic thinking and the expansion of colonialists were not only brutal and explicit when Mr. Sun Yat-sen was determined to save his country; they remain true and similar as of today, with the combination of military power and proxy wars launched by the Western countries. The recent urge for environmental sustainability, zero-carbon emissions and inclusive development, and even the promotion of views on whether companies should assume social responsibility (ESG), all confirm that the past production arrangement and financial penetration under globalization already causing a significant deviation among final targets, impact and original attempts. Therefore, by deeply contemplating the fundamental differences between the East and the West civilizations and having the courage to make cross-references can we close the gap and dream for a common prosperity as well as better understanding between them. The purpose of this article is to review the evolution of Dr. Sun's ideological structure, sort out the specific actions in his later years, and try to correspond to the key transitions and background both in time and space dimension. We hope to bring out a new atmosphere, especially through examining the ebb and flow of the East and the West. With the pursuit of potential possibilities in mind, there should be goodwill intertwined and integrated understanding in the near future. |
