This study explores the implementation of inclusive education in a public-private experimental elementary school operated under the KIST (KIPP Inspired School in Taiwan) model. The aim is to understand teachers’beliefs about inclusive education, the school’s key practices, and their reflections on the implementation process. Employing a case study approach, the researcher collected data through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The findings are as follows: 1. The school’s core beliefs in inclusive education include a positive and accepting attitude, alignment with the KIST vision, a strong emphasis on educational equity, and recognition of successful inclusive practices. 2. Key practices include obtaining external resources to hire special education teachers and establishing internal support systems such as academic coaching (Coach) and mentoring (Mentor) to provide both instructional and psychological support for teachers. 3. The teaching team employs differentiated instruction to build a positive learning environment where all students can actively participate. 4. The school has established a solid foundation for inclusive education and aims to further collaborate with parents and address challenges related to special education resources in small schools. |
