This report mentions to what are called classifiers (loại từ) in Vietnamese, the diversity of classifiers and how to teach foreign students to recognize an to use them in communication. The content of the report is as followings: - The definition of classifiers. Are they a special funtional group of nouns? How are they seen by linguists through the lens of cognitive linguistics. - How classifiers are chosen, set up and practiced in Vietnamese textbooks to teach foreigners (number of classifiers, allocation in the studying process, explaination, popular worksheet with classifiers…). - The report will gather the scaffolding models where classifiers have to used and have not to used by applying cognitive theory in linguistics and give some suggestions about a timeline to teach Vietnamese to foreigners. |
