Teaching methods affect students’learning outcomes and absorption. In recent years, adjustments in the education system have been focused on applying what has been learned at school to daily life. In gifted education, students are expected to be able to use higher-order thinking skills to solve problems. Discovery learning is used to encourage students to explore knowledge through discussion and observation. It has been found that the teaching approach is mainly used in the subject like mathematics and science, but it may not be as prevalent in humanities and language subjects. Integrating extensive reading into English language education could be an approach that may enhance learners’understanding of the structure of writing and feel confident in self-expression. Therefore, the author attempted to use the combing discovery learning with wiring instruction in an all-English environment, in expectation for offering experiences that enhance exploratory skills. |
