The Life of Master Hsing Yun is a memoir of his eighty years on earth. Written in an intimate and down-to-earth manner, he remembers the past, looks back, and through the lens of autobiography, describes how he has experienced life in his daily life and practice. With the most sincere touch, this venerable preacher of Humanistic Buddhism describes the causes, encounters, and transitions of life, from existence, to life, to life, as well as the conflicts and sublimation of the mind, demonstrating how he gradually pushes his concern for objective existence into metaphysical and spiritual pursuits. In the transcendence of reality, he recognizes the meaning of life and accomplishes self-realization. In the past, most of the studies on Master Hsing Yun's works have focused on the propagation of the Dharma or religion, but neglected the realization of life behind the texts. In this paper, we intend to discuss from the perspective of ''returning to the origin'', and to explore Master Hsing Yun's ''Life with Palms Together'' on the basis of the ''foundation'' of vitalism, discussing the motivation and background of Master Hsing Yun's reminiscences, the scope and level of his life story, and the characteristics of the book's creation, which reveals that his narrative is full of sincerity and humanity, and that he does not appear to be a relic of the world and independent, transcendent, and secular due to the author's status as a religious master. On the contrary, the author's religious master status does not make him appear to be a worldly and independent person, but rather, because of his tolerance and understanding of human nature, he demonstrates a concern for life and a testimony of life that is compatible with Humanistic Buddhism, which is of everlasting reference significance to readers. |
