Chiang Kai-Shek integrated Chinese culture and ethnic education into military education, and his educational philosophy integrated civil and military education. However, Chang Chi-Yun’s educational philosophy regarded cultural revitalization as the basis for the future competition. He also knew that academic research should be free and should not be controlled by the political party and government. He made the Chinese Culture University as a place to fulfill his educational thoughts. Chiang Kai-Shek wanted to lead the government with the KMT(Koumintang) and used the power of the KMT to promote Chinese culture and education. Chang Chi-Yun tended to establish a school that was not controlled by any political party and government, and took it as an opportunity to break through and establish a research institute. So that, the educational spirit could last forever. Although Chiang and Chang different views, they knew cherished each other. In the end, Chiang Kai-Shek asked Chang to organize the College of Chinese Culture educational with cultural elements and made it becoming true. This article illuminates the differences and compatibility between Chiang Kai-Shek and Chang Chi-Yun in the establishment of the College of Chinese Culture to explore their respective educational ideas. Besides , it reviews their opinions on education and school founding plans. |
