Video games for the last few decades have developed to the point where they can be produced for many different uses. From education to advertising, the integration of gaming has helped the transmission of information and the sharing of interests easier. To understand how gaming can be beneficial to cultural exchange, this article will investigate how role-playing video games shape the way people perceive other cultures and identities, and how it can be used to educate others. This paper will investigate how video games have existed as an important component in culture, how it can utilize it to teach about and connect with other cultures better and see if it’s possible to use these methods to introduce Taiwanese culture as well. |
