This essay mainly studied on colloquial short story in the medium term of Qing Dynasty such as ''Yu Hua Xiang''《雨花香》, ''Tong Tian Le''《通天樂》, ''Yu Mu Xing Xing Bian''《娛目醒心編》and ''Xing Meng Pian Yan''《醒夢駢言》. First the formation of the story events, then the intervention of the narrator and the appearance of first-person narrative and finally the patterns of news-reporting narration was analyzed and discussed. It is found that: colloquial short stories of this time tends to use paradigmatic structural narrations. The interventions of the narrator appear very often, and the way of first-person narration therefore started to be applied in the stories. Finally, this essay also found the patterns of news-reporting narration had already been applied early in the colloquial short stories of the eighteenth century. |
