An international collaborative exhibition is an opportunity for public museums. However, under the limited resources, time, and budget constraints, senior curators at public museums often bear a heavy workload to deliver outstanding exhibitions. Therefore, transform colleagues without relevant experience into effective contributors to the museum. This article analyzes the example of the international exhibit, ''Magical Journey of Taiwanese Book Rental Store and Manga,'' co-curated by the National Museum of Taiwan History (NMTH), Taiwan, and Kitakyushu Manga Museum (KMM), Japan, in 2022, to demonstrate how to organize an international exhibition under constraints in terms of labors, time, budget, and experience. The first part primarily focuses on how the NMTH curated on-site international exhibits in the past. The second part analyzes the preparation, execution, and completion of the ''Magical Journey of Taiwanese Book Rental Store and Manga'' international exhibition. The third part draws from the insights of the second part to create a quick guide for newcomers to international exhibitions, including time management, various digital tools, and psychological support. Finally, the article provides tools and charts developed during this international exhibition, allowing newcomers to adapt and apply these resources directly to their own exhibit management. With this article, the aim is to lower the entry barriers for newcomers to public museums and international exhibitions and cultivate them into competent museum professionals. |
