In order to improve the gifted education curriculum for elementary schools, the author worked with the New Taipei City Elementary School General Intelligence Gifted Education Course Teaching Guidance Team for ten months to develop STEAM courses for gifted students in elementary schools. At the same time, peer and expert observations and discussions were conducted to refine the curriculum internally. The teacher's manual book of the courses has been completed, and the teaching and subject content knowledge are quite complete and in-depth. This article discusses this from the perspective of university teachers and finds that the tutoring team’s professional and student-centered teaching, flexible adjustments to respond to students’learning needs, and teamwork are the keys to success. The dedicated convenor principal and two experienced researchers played the role of senior coaches in the curriculum development, promoting teamwork and sustainable development results of the curriculum. |
