One of the objectives of gifted education is to nurture students with an altruistic spirit. It is expected that through the process of social engagement, elementary school gifted students can develop a sense of social responsibility, correct values, and ethics, and harness their own abilities to influence a larger community positively. This paper guides teachers in using the Design for Change (DFC) four-step frame-work to empower students through creative thinking and social participation. The goal is to unlock their potential and make a positive impact on society. This paper also shares two real-life cases, namely, eradicating the addiction of primary school students to electronic devices and addressing the issue of air pollution in their com-munity. It explores the changes experienced by relevant collaborative partners, participating students, and the teachers guiding the process of social engagement. |
