This research is aimed to examine the current status of the implementation of Japanese Tea Ceremony (Chado) in school with the hope to discover possible and feasible precautions for future practices of this traditional culture. The method of questionnaire was adopted, and the participants of the research, all instructors of Japanese Tea Ceremony Clubs, were required to express their views of the suitable number of club members, the space, and the equipment needed, respectively. Based on the data collected and analyzed, three suggestions are made accordingly and listed as follows. First, the club instructors believed it might be helpful to form an association for the schools promoting Japanese Tea Ceremony to exchange views and share experiences. Therefore, it seems essential to organize an alliance to deal with the matters related. In addition, awarding qualified club members a certification seems to be able to improve their motivation. This also gives the students credibility, showing their competence in practicing Chado. Finally, it is hoped by the club instructors that an overseas branch of Urasenke, one of the main schools of Japanese Tea Ceremony, could be established in Taoyuan area, making it easier to manage applications for and issuing of certification. |
