Empirical research on teacher education indicates the rate of registering for teaching force is superior extremely higher than the admission rate, highlighting the structural problem of teacher education policy is influencing preservice physical education teachers’ (PPETs) career selection. Based on teacher socialization as the theory of understanding PPETs’ career selection, the present study depicts that PPETs are encountering career restless under the circumstances of low-birth-rate, the imbalance between teaching force supply and demand, and teacher enrollment examination. Through a dialectical process of description, this study tries to understand the phenomenon of PPETs’ career restless, in order to assist PPETs in finding their pathways of settling down in the era of supply and demand imbalance. |
