The National Development Council announced“Taiwan’s Pathway to Net-Zero Emissions in 2050”in March 2022. In 2030, 100% of public buildings will reach building energy efficiency level 1 or become near zero-carbon buildings. The Ministry of the Interior’s Architecture and Building Research Institute drafted R-BERS in 2022, an energy-efficiency evaluation system specifically for new residential buildings, as the residential building energy-efficiency labeling system must include large-scale social housing to realize effective social housing energy-conservation and carbon-reduction policies. Because the object of this assessment is different from the single-family housing or multi-family townhouses used in such energy-efficiency evaluations in the US and European countries, this study thus selected 4 social housing buildings in the design planning stage and 11 different case design strategies to test the carbon reduction benefits and the sensitivity of the evaluation system. Suggestions for zero-carbon housing are proposed to ensure the reliability of residential energy efficiency assessments for large-scale collective housing. |
