Covid-19 pandemic has greatly accelerated the digital transformation of a series of industries, brought great challenges to the field of trade financing, exposed the vulnerability of supply chain, SME financing and paper-based trade, and highlighted the necessity of accelerating the digitization of trade financing. In response to the epidemic crisis, many international organizations, financial institutions and technology companies are accelerating the implementation of digital solutions in trade financing. There are still a lot of legislative gaps in the digitization of trade financing. There are many legal problems, such as the unclear legal recognition of electronic trade financing documents, bills and signatures, the lack of interoperability between digital trade financing platforms and the lack of unified digital standards, which have become a huge obstacle to the digital transformation of trade financing. China needs to actively participate in the formulation of international rules, carry out global legal innovation and cooperation at the government and industry levels, and provide legal and institutional guarantee for the digital transformation of trade financing. |
