The establishment of Taiwan indigenous literature as a field, the construction of its history, and its award-winning literary works are all important topics. In 1993, Shan-hai Culture Magazine published the“Shanhai Culture Bimonthly,”which promoted the literary award system and spawned future generations of writers. On this basis, this paper will explore the field of indigenous literary awards, writing by millennials, and cultural reconstruction, expounding from two dimensions: first, it will focus on indigenous literary awards and discuss the position of award-winning texts written by millennials;second, it will analyze the indigenous literature award(20102020)sponsored by the Council of Indigenous Peoples and co-sponsored by Shan-hai Culture Magazine, paying special attention to winning submissions by millennial writers (ie. those born after 1980s). The researcher will point out attempts to create texts that portray gay issues and non-realistic styles marks an important milestone in the writers’works in the face of changes related to cultural identity. This paper will focus on the aesthetic construction of indigenous literature and respond to concerns about millennial literature and post-nativist discourse in academic circles. |
